A sleepless morning, a bleeding nose and a good idea.
It is 4:40 a.m., 10 August 2014, early Sunday morning. The day before my 21st Birthday. Well basically it is still Saturday evening for me, 'cause everybody knows if you haven't gone to sleep and woken up it doesn't count as morning yet. Duh! I just published Music # 14 and decided it was high time I go to bed. However, when I went to brush my teeth I scratched my nose and it started bleeding. In fact, my nose has been bleeding quite often these past few weeks (only from the left nostril, if you were wondering, which you probably weren't). I hate having things in my nose and when the blood dries and forms a crust it bugs me and I bug it in response so it starts bleeding again...Seems only fair.
When I was little I had very weak capillaries and my nose used to bleed extremely easily and frequently, especially in the summer. Thus I am an expert at stopping the blood flow from my nose. I got even better at it due to my three years of martial arts training. There were lectures and demonstrations, and I still have a tiny book on medical help in the martial arts. I learned that if you press firmly the place above your nose just between your eyebrows when your nose is bleeding, and hold for a while, it stops immediately. I give you 100% guarantee! Since I learned this trick I've been applying it each and every time my nose starts bleeding. Seriously. Works like magic! (Of course, presuming nothing is broken. If the bleeding is caused my broken nose, by no means should you do this. You can further injure yourself.)
This article went so awry. Anyways. Back to my idea and what inspired me. As those of you who follow my blog know, I have been accepted to University and will be starting my studies in September 2014. Needless to say, I am very interested in getting tips and advice on university life so I went on YouTube and found this video - University Freshers FAQ by Jamie Ped. It's my first time seeing this guy but his video was helpful and he seems nice so I checked his other channels. Turns out he does daily vlogs. He already has around 1104 days of vlogging behind his back, which is darn impressive if you ask me.
I, on the other hand, have been publishing less and less materials in my blog. Even when I do publish content, it is with long intervals of time between the posts. I have many ideas, I just can't seem to be making progress executing them. I feel bad about it. I really do. And it is not like I don't have time. I realized that while I THINK I don't have time, because indeed I have important things to do, in reality instead of doing them I waste a good amount of that precious time browsing through Facebook and watching random videos in YouTube (which is sometimes inspiring, other times depressing and a total bust). I'm not happy with this fact and I am determined to change it.
Which is where my genius 4:40 a.m. idea comes into play. Inspired by Jamie Ped's daily vlogs I decided to start my own daily (or weekly, because, let's be realistic) bloging challenge. Not vloging, 'cause I feel uncomfortable filming myself. Plus I have no idea how to edit videos. (Note to self: Must. Learn.) Maybe someday I'll do vlogs too. It will be a personal challenge. I think a daily or at least a weekly blog will get me out of my comfort zone and force me to be more productive and create more content for my blog. Because I will have to tell you guys what I did that day/week. I believe there is logic in my words. Not sure I can see it in this hour, but I'm pretty confident it's still there.
So yeah. This in my brilliant idea. I hope I get to realize it starting soon. I think we can all agree that my birthday is as good a days as any to start. I really want to try and do daily blog posts because it will be more stimulating and challenging. The weekly blogging seems much easier so it shall be my back-up plan.
Good night y'all. See you later.
