A Decision & A Weekly Blogging Challenge
Hello, lovely people!
I have been thinking a lot these past few weeks. Pfft, who am I kidding? I am always thinking way too much. However, I recently watched The Fault in Our Stars and while I did not particularly enjoy the film, it provoked some deep revelations in me. So after a thorough and thoughtful consideration, I decided to do neither a daily nor a weekly blogging challenge. In fact, I realized that this blog is costing a significant amount of time and effort and causing a fair amount of stress in my life. Therefore I decided to stop blogging for a while. Instead of spending my time writing articles barely anyone reads (correct me if I'm wrong), I am going to dedicate my time to more important and meaningful activities, like interacting and spending time with my family, friends and loved ones, as well as concentrating on improving my photography, developing my VHP website, working on personal projects and pursuing my main goals in life. Quietly. Without sharing everything with everybody. Some things are more precious when they are kept close to our hearts, hidden from spectators.
I apologize if I am disappointing anybody. What I might still do is publish random articles every now and then, if I have the time and desire to do so. No promises. You can still follow me on Facebook (personal account & photography page), Instagram and Goodreads.
This being said, here is the first and last installment of my short-lived Weekly Blogging Challenge (11-17 August 2014).

- I turned 21 on Monday (11th August 2014). I am officially legal everywhere now, whatever that means. Before I continue, I want to thank everybody for the kind wishes and unexpected gifts I received! Truly appreciated! Thank you all so much!
Followed by one not so random question: How do you feel about having friends or acquaintances who are born on the same date as you (a.k.a. your birthday)?
I personally have just one friend born on the 11th August besides me - my high school classmate Ralitsa. (Happy Birthday Rali!) I used to feel jealous that somebody else was born on "my" birthday, which is ridiculous, considering thousands of people all over the world share the same birthdays. As if a day belongs solely to me, only because I was coincidentally born on it. Stupid, I know!
I started looking at it from a different perspective, though. It might be fun to share this special day of the year with somebody else. Also, Chris Hemsworth (Thor) is born on the 11th August. Who wouldn't want to share their birthday with HIM?! I guess I don't mind sharing my birthday after all.
- This year, same as last year, I did not celebrate. I guess I didn't feel like it. Instead, I went shopping with Toni (my boyfriend). I had to buy a mouse and a case for my new laptop. Yes, I have a new laptop to replace my old (still dear to my heart) stationary computer. The laptop is a present to me from my parents. I have a hard time adjusting from square monitor to a rectangular one. I hope I get used to it soon. (As my boyfriend so kindly pointed out to me, there is proper terminology for the screens but seeing as "square" and "rectangular" were the simplest descriptions I thought of, we'll just roll with them). I also bought new earphones for my mobile phone. (The original ones that I got with my phone went through a beauty make-over which may have caused their disrepair...Oops!) Now at last I can listen to music everywhere again. Muahahahha! *evil laugh* I also bought a suitcase (hopefully big enough to accommodate all the things I want to take with myself to England), and some other less interesting stuff so let's move on.
- I made cupcakes twice this week. Once for my birthday - Peach Cupcakes that didn't turn out very well (they were tasty but flat as a board), and Nutella Pear Cupcakes that were fabulous. So delicious that I shared the recipe with you in a separate article.
- Two nights in a row Toni and I went out so that I could photograph the stars. I am a newbie in this field of photography so the results are not that impressive. Nevertheless, it was a fun experience which I'm looking forward to repeating.

- My nose still haven't given up on bleeding at totally random times. The other day I had just woken up and was still sleepy when all of a sudden my nose just started bleeding. What the f*ck, man?! Why?? I guess it is from the heat. It has been crazy hot in Plovdiv recently. But still - not a pleasant way to wake up. And I know I said my technique for stopping nosebleed works like magic (it stops the blood 10 times faster than usual) but in the meantime paper towels come in handy. Just sayin'.
- On Thursday (14 August) we played The First Sentence Challenge. I first heard about this challenge from the booktubers in this video. I was amused and instantly inspired to try it out myself. It just seems so fun...And it is! :D I was surprisingly good at this thing. Toni and I played it taking turns, each of us guessing 5 books in a row. Oh, I won, by the way.
- I haven't mentioned this to you guys, but I am part of the team working on the Blog of "Night of Museums and Galleries - Plovdiv". Last year I was a volunteer again for the "Night" - I photo documented some of the events. What I do now is I interview people, take their pictures and write articles about them for the blog. Isn't this cool? It is a new experience for me so it kicked me out of my comfort zone and got me doing stuff I've never done before. I find I quite like it.
And this year is special because it is the 10th anniversary of the "Night of Museums and Galleries". There are 87 locations and more than 120 events.
- I am so sorry that I will not be able to attend the "Night" this year. It is on the 12th and 13th September. And we are flying to London on the 13th...I guess I can catch some events on the 12th but I don't think I will be in the mood. I am most disappointed that I will miss The Detska Kitka Choir's performance. It is on the 13th. Bummer, eh? (they used my picture for this *proud*)
You can view the Night of Museums and Galleries Blog here. My articles specifically you can find and read here. Warning: Everything in the blog is in Bulgarian. The website of the "Night", however, is available in English. You can check it out here.
Oh, and if you missed my photographic exhibition about The Detska Kitka Choir, it is available on my photography website both in English and in Bulgarian. Go check it out.
- More exciting news! Both Toni and I ( I think I wrote "Toni and I" at least 10 times in this article...I do a lot of things with my boyfriend. Deal with it!) So as I was saying...Toni and I got accepted into Portsmouth University's Halls of Residence. This is great because Student Housing offers a limited amount of rooms. We are in the same building, which is awesome but in different flats, which kind of sucks. Overall I'm excited about university. I can't wait to go there and at the same time I am terrified. I will be living alone/in a foreign country/together with strangers for the first time. A lot of first times, guys. It is pretty scary. However, if we dismiss the petty worries for a moment, I truly believe I will love it there - England and Portsmouth in particular. Plus, I have Toni with me. That's a major plus, I tell ya.
That's all folks.
Love, Vera
