Random is good
Hallo, everyone!
As you may or may not know, I am currently applying to university in order to pursue my dream of becoming a professional photographer. This is a crucial step in my life that will undoubtedly help me achieve the future career goals I have set for myself. I have been imagining this for a very long time and it is finally coming to life which makes me all kinds of happy!
However, with all the hustle and bustle of preparing the documents for my university application and well…dealing with life, I haven’t done much shooting. Anyway; that’s no excuse! I want to learn and improve myself which is impossible without practice and experiments. Personally, I love taking pictures without setting myself a specific theme or topic. It is liberating. So the other day I picked my camera and did just that! I sauntered aimlessly (indoors and outdoors) taking photographs.

Therefore, I wanted to share some of the random shots from this improvised photo session. If not for sharing my pictures here, many of them would never see the light of day. They would disappear in the depths of my hard disk and would never be shared with the world. I know they are not perfect, or anything special. But they are mine; I created them and, in one way or another, they have helped me grow. I don’t want them to be simply forgotten or neglected.
In addition, through my website and blog, I want to give you the opportunity to witness my journey in the vast world of photography; to see my progress and be my friends along the way of achieving my dreams. I am the kind of person who always sees the positive side of any situation even the dire ones. I believe there is a bright future ahead of us if only we are brave enough to pursue it.
Without further ado, I present to you a collection of my recent photographs. I may as well add notes with information about the images. I would really love to hear your opinion so don’t hesitate to write comments. Enjoy!
~ Vera
Around town
Memories.
Graffiti.
Roughly translated the sign means "Do not touch! Life-threatening!" I find it ironical that the person decided to paint exactly graffiti of bicycles. As if he placed them purposefully near the "Danger!" sign to imply that bicycles are dangerous. Just speculating, of course. I'm pretty certain this is not the case, but I find the thought intriguing. Personally, I enjoy riding a bike and think it's a splendid pastime.
The two pictures above are taken in the center of Plovdiv. This is part of the Roman Stadium. Actually, a terrace overlooking the Roman Stadium (see in the THIS picture). I have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Probably renovating. Again. Hopefully for good.
A shrubbery somewhere in Plovdiv.
At home
Glass series. This is the glass form our living room door. It fascinates me how the change of light and perspective (along with aperture) makes a huge difference in what we see.
T-shirt triptych. My father's favourite T-shirt.
Cloth and texture series.
Flowers in the garden.
Cabbage triptych.
